Types of Clouds and Rainfall

Clouds are mainly classified into four categories:-
1. Cirrus Cloud:- These are thin and detached cloud generally having white in color and feathery appearance. These are formed at the high of 8000-12000m.
2. Cumulus:- Look like cotton wool and found at the height of 4000-7000m
3. Stratus:- These are layered cloud formed due to loss of heat.
4. Nimbus:-These are black or dark gray clouds found at middle levels or near the surface
Rain is classified into three categories:-
1. Convectional Rain:-
2. Orographic or Relief
3. Cyclonic or frontal

Important Grasslands Of World

There are mainly two types of Glasslands found in the World. Tropical Grasslands and Temperate Grasslands.

Tropical Grasslands:-
These are found either side of equator and extend till the tropics.
Some of important Tropical Grasslands are
1. Savanna – East Africa
2. Campos – Brazil
3. Llanos- Venezuela

Temperate Grasslands:-
These are found in the mid latitudinal zones and in the interior part of the continents.

3. Steppe – Central Asia
4. Down – Australia
5. Prairie – North America (USA and Canada)
Prairie grasslands are called the Granaries of the World as this region produce surplus of wheat etc.
